State Senator Jason Anavitarte had a great session for the 40 days under the Gold Dome this year, and now back home to Paulding County for the rest of the year and without an opponent in his own 31st District re-election bid, he’s looking to help out others.
This morning, Anavitarte announced on Facebook that he was showing his support for a local candidate in the District 5 School Board race, asking voters to give John Dean a shot to continue as a School Board member.
Dean, who was elected in 2013, is seeking a third term in office to serve on the School Board and faces a primary challenger in John Grant in the cycle.
Voters will decide whether Dean will retain his seat or Grant will take over in the May 24 primary, since no challengers from the Democratic party stepped up to try and take on the seat.
Here’s what Anavitarte posted in his endorsement this morning:
Re-Elect John Dean District 5 Paulding School Board
Taxes on the Paulding school board were not cut since 2013 until John Dean was elected to the school board.
He worked this year with me to give tax relief to seniors in Paulding County by voting to raise the exemption over the next two years to 68. It’s on the ballot now for November.
He has never missed a vote on taxes and fights for efficient use of tax payer dollars in our schools.
That is conservative leadership we want serving the families and citizens of Paulding County and supporting our kids. He is in our schools everyday.
