Dallas Police in recent days have been reaching out to local youth, reminding them that they are here to help them in times of trouble and also getting a welcome round of thank you notes.

On Friday, Lt. Weaver was among local officers who were out in the community. She stopped by the Brookwood Learning Center to read to youth in the classroom and teaching them valuable lessons about how to get help when they need it. The books were given out to youth via the Get Paulding Reading under the L4GA grant.

The fun didn’t end there for the Dallas PD. They also posted on Friday about some thank you letters and drawings they got from first graders at Nebo Elementary for their service to the community as police officers.

They hung them in a group at the Dallas PD offices for all to enjoy.

Finally on Saturday, Dallas PD took part in the Hearts for Heroes event and gave youth a chance to climb around the inside of a cruiser over the weekend.
