A new spot for outdoors lovers is now available after a project was recently completed by the City of Dallas, and celebrated at the beginning of the week with the red carpet treatment.
The new Orphan Bridge Trail opened recently, but the City of Dallas finally got the chance to gather with the Scott Smith family to celebrate a grand opening for the new path.
The trail connects Sara Babb Park to the Post Office on a 1.5 mile route that is great for walking, hiking and biking and is open daily.
City officials posted about the opening online, and did include one request of local resident utilizing the Orphan Bridge Trail: clean up after yourselves.
“Your fur babies are allowed but must be leashed; please be kind and pick up any “deposits” they may leave behind,” the post noted. “Be sure to put this trail on your “to do” list and enjoy all the beauty it has to offer!”
The Orphan Bridge Trail has parking available at both ends that are paved.
The trail officially opened in August for local residents to enjoy.
