The Paulding County Economic Development Board approved of a new Chief Executive and President during a meeting earlier today, according to a release from their office posted online.
Alex Almodovar will serve in the dual role of Paulding County Economic Development following the Board of Director’s unanimous approval.
He takes over the organization responsible for recruiting new industrial and commercial businesses into the county and promoting development of the county in a variety of ways.
Almodóvar currently serves as the Development Director for the City of Acworth.
He was named a finalist on August 4 for the job.
Almodóvar spearheaded several efforts within the City of Acworth, including the PlanFirst designation from the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and the creation of Acworth’s Development Authority.
He also oversaw changes to Acworth’s zoning ordinance and created a “character overlay district.”
Almodóvar was also named the 2023 Cobb Chamber of Commerce Next Generation Award winner and served as the Northwest Industry Council chair in 2024.
He’s a resident of Paulding County.
