Myra Casteel

Myra Casteel, age 75, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025, at her home in Dallas, Georgia.

Born on December 4, 1949, to the late Johnny Dale and Maxine Weeks Riley, Myra lived a life filled with love and deep devotion to her family.

Myra dedicated more than two decades of her career as a Kitchen Manager for Valley Services. However, her true legacy lies in the warmth, care, and joy she brought to her family. A natural nurturer, she found happiness in cooking and crafting, shared a passion for flowers and floral arranging, and delighted in creating cherished stories for her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Myra was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 25 years, Marion “Hank” Casteel, and her brother, John Riley.

She is survived by her daughters, Felicia (Jeff) Harkins and Lydia Casteel; sons, Albert (Amy) Hogan Jr. and Tim Geder (Heather) Ito; sisters, Carolyn Davis and Penny Burgess; grandchildren, Jacob Kamanu (Ashley) Ito, Jesse Kekoa (Emma) Ito, Chance Hogan, Scout Hogan, Bryce (Melissa) Womack, Chalony (Alex) Bilbrey, Austin Casteel; great-grandchildren, Lyla Ito, Teagan Ito, Zoe Ito, Lyric Ito, Adler Ito, Delilah Casteel, Raelynn Bilbrey, Ember Bilbrey and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Myra’s compassion extended far beyond her immediate family. She was known for her kind words, attentive ear, and, most of all, her storytelling-a gift that brought laughter, imagination, and lasting memories to her grandchildren.

Funeral services for Myra will be held at 11:00 AM on Sunday, May 4, 2025, in the Sam Clark Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, with Robbie Entrekin officiating. Interment will follow at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw, Georgia.

As we remember Myra Casteel, we find comfort in the stories she shared, the meals she lovingly prepared, and the love she so freely gave. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
