A tile cutting tool company is set to make a $1.1 million investment into Paulding County with a new facility set to locate in Hiram.
The Paulding County Economic Development agency announced this afternoon that Cortag will be locating on Metromont Road and plan to hire 10 people with an initial investment into the community.
They plan for future growth as well.
Cortag makes tile cutting tools that are sold across the globe in 45 countries to the construction industry. They are originally based out of Brazil, having begun making tools in the mid-1990s and have since expanded with manufacturing facilities in Peru and Miami.
They are moving their manufacturing facilities from Miami to Hiram in the upcoming deal.
They additionally have offices in Spain, China, and Dubai.
Cortag specializes in cutters for ceramic and porcelain tiles with tool options for electric, manual, scoring tools and large format cutting tools for bigger tile pieces.
The company is expected to utilize Worksource Georgia to find new hires when they begin operations here locally.
Cortag will be moving into an existing location on Metromont Road when they relocate.
The PCED’s announcement additionally thanked the Technical College System of Georgia and Worksource Georgia for providing a connection to help Cortag find a new home in Georgia.
