The City of Hiram announced that a plan for a New Years Eve celebration has been called off ahead of the start of 2026.
Those who were planning to attend this year’s New Year’s Eve Block Party will instead want to reschedule their evening and instead head in December to the city’s planned Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.
The ceremony is set for December 6 with a start time of 6 p.m., with the tree lighting coming a bit later in the evening.
The city is planning to expand their efforts this year for the tree lighting ceremony and offer more fun instead of hosting two events in December.
Officials noted in a social media post their reason for calling off the event at year’s end was due to low turnout from the community.
“Unfortunately, the turnout the last two years has been low so instead, extra “sparkle” is being added to the Tree Lighting event. You do not want to miss this epic celebration of the Christmas season,” the note from the city posted on Facebook said this morning.
No additional information has yet been released about those plans for the tree lighting event.
Check back for more as it becomes available.
